Science is organized or systematized knowledge gathered by the scientific method. 

The Scientific Method consists of three steps:

• collect facts and data by observation under controlled conditions (experimentation)

• examine and correlate the data and propose a hypothesis (a tentative theory)

• plan and carry out further experimentation to support or refute the hypothesis.

Chemistry is the science concerned with the composition of substances and the changes they undergo.

Chemistry has five major subfields:

• organic
• inorganic
• analytical
• physical
• biochemistry
